Help The Fund Help Others
The Philanthropic Committee is busy working to keep the
projects they've established up and running. There are new
activities that the committee would like to become involved
with but it all takes money.
Association dues are not permitted to be used for these
activities which the IRS says do not directly benefit our
members. Therefore, all funds must come through the
generous donations that staff members make either through
payroll deductions or direct contributions.
Currently, the Fund is involved with:
- Sponsorship of our P.E.A. Patriots and the annual
Baseball Awards Reception for players, coaches, and
parents in October
- December -- Donate teddy bears to the St. Joseph's
Children's Ward
- January Annual Fund Raising Drive --
- Distribute Scholarship Information to the high
schools
- February -- Dr. Seuss books donated to school
libraries
- April -- Interview high school seniors who have
applied for the Mildred Wright Scholarship
- May/June -- Announce winners and present the
scholarships at the High School Award Ceremonies
In addition, the Fund makes donations all year round to
organizations and helps sponsor student related activities
Once again the Fund will be holding its annual fund
raising drive and hope that you find it in your heart to
help us continue providing scholarships, fund special
activities, purchase baseball equipment and uniforms for the
children of Paterson. While all contributions are gladly
accepted, we ask that you consider signing for automatic
payroll deductions of just 50 cents per check.
Please help us continue to
help others!
