Legislative
Committees continue hearing testimony
This is the second edition of the Special
Legislative Session newsletter, which is designed
to provide NJEA members and leaders with the
information they need to stay current on the state’s
special legislative session.
As October winds down, the four committees
continue to take testimony from the public and
invited organizations. The Legislature has a self-imposed
deadline of Nov. 15 by
which the four committees are expected to provide
recommendations to Governor Corzine for review.
At that point, there are different scenarios for
how the governor and Legislature will
proceed. NJEA will, of course, continue to
provide updates on the special legislative session
and the committees’ recommendations.
