2012 Plan Design Offerings:

The SEHBP committees approved new plan designs that will be available during the open enrollment period.  A comparison chart of all plans available as of January 1, 2012 is attached as well at the corresponding monthly premiums.

The current NJ DIRECT and HMO plans available through the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) will still be available in plan year 2012.  Several additional plan options have also established under the SHBP for 2012. Horizon BCBSNJ, Aetna, and CIGNA will each offer two additional plan design options, which provide a lower cost premium deduction in exchange for a slightly higher cost-sharing when services are received. They will also offer High Deductible Health Plans for employees and certain retirees.

  1. Premium Sharing Effective June 28, 2012

  1. Open enrollment for the Prescription drug, dental and vision plans will be take place in the second quarter of 2012 for a July 1, 2012 effective date.

Employee Contributions:

Pursuant to Chapter 78, P.L. 2011, the Pension and Health Benefit Reform Law, new employee health benefit contribution amounts became effective.  Employees now must pay either a percentage of the medical and prescription plan premium or 1.5% of annual salary, whichever is greater.

Below you will find links to a calculator that will help you calculate what your monthly contribution will be based on the medical and prescription drug plan you select.  When calculating you contribution for the prescription drug plan, please used the following monthly premiums and disregard those on the SEHBP Plan Premium Rate Chart.

Single - $162.15        Husband/Wife, Parent Child(ren), Family - $275.88

If you are changing plans, adding or dropping coverage, or adding or dropping a spouse and or dependant(s), please be sure your application is delivered to the District's personnel offices by November 11, 2011.
